Bring energy and poetry into your painting!
This is a new series of drop in “Mindful Art” workshops introducing you to the jewel like colours and evocative qualities of watercolour. Explore places, memories, moods, and dreams in this vibrant and luminous medium.
In these workshops you’ll be encouraged to try out a variety of watercolour techniques to uncover fresh expressions of your experiences. We’ll explore textures and colours to help you express feelings, thoughts and observations. Time for mindful sensing and contemplative reflection will be balanced with lively exercises where you’ll discover how to make your colours flow and sing.
No experience is necessary – these workshops are suitable for beginners and for more experienced artists looking for fresh approaches to painting, and they’re open to anyone from 11 years old to 111 years old!
The emphasis is on mindful play and experimentation. For Emma art is a way to explore both our inner world and our relationship with the world outside. These workshops will teach you some technical skills but the emphasis is on using art-making as a reflective and joyful, personal practice.
Art is “creating something from a feeling within” (Nitin Sawnhey)
