Hi arty peeps!
We have been offering art birthday parties for kids and teens for many years now and we love it! In this current climate we were unsure how we could possibly move our art birthday parties for kids online. However, after a lot of testing, we have now hosted some online art parties via zoom and they worked really well!
Our art parties for kids and teens start with a fun drawing game. They would then learn a particular drawing or painting skill like cartooning, drawing manga faces or mixing colours. We would then demo this skill in a piece of art. The children are then encouraged to create their own unique piece of art based on these skills.
We decided very early on that we would not be a step by step art party as this often leads to the children comparing their work to others and feeling like there is a ‘right’ way to do it. This means the children are free to explore their own ideas around their own interests.
