Art for the afraid presents…
‘The Beauty of Light and Dark in Portraiture’: A Mindful Art Workshop for beginners or nervous returners to Art. (2 of 4 workshops)
With local artist Emma Burleigh.
This is one of a series of four workshops: you can attend any or all of them.
Do you long to recover the joy of drawing you felt in early childhood and do you feel discouraged?
Then this workshop is for you!
Explore the beauty of the human face in light and dark. Learn how to create a stunning portrait full of mood, shadow and depth. Stimulate your ability to think creatively.Sharpen your powers of perception. No previous ‘talent’ required. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never drawn a portrait before nor picked up a pencil since you were eleven!
Suitable for adult beginners and all teenagers.
My teaching methods aim to shift you into a non self-critical state of mind where you will find yourself able to draw what you see without ‘effort’ or over-trying. It’s a supportive and clearly guided learning environment where ‘failures’ are seen as an essential part of the learning journey.
Previous participants say:
“You demystified drawing for me.”
A very enjoyable, relaxing and peaceful journey to becoming/discovering the artist within, changing perceptions and gathering skills.”
I am as a result of the class more relaxed, feeling more in tune with my creativity, and more confident about creating. Brilliant!”
“Emma has nurtured my fragile confidence and enabled it to evolve into my own artistic voice, allowing me to find my full expression whilst also helping me to stay grounded in basic technique and method.”
To book only this workshop: £25
